  • Scope and Content
The collection consists of Whitton’s personal files containing the research material which formed the basis of much of his journalism and books. The files reflect Whitton’s strongly held views on the legal system and corruption but also include subjects ranging from politics, the Vietnam War and organised crime to whistle blowers, cricket and rugby union. The files comprise correspondence and newscuttings together with drafts of articles and film scripts. The newscuttings are often annotated or have sections highlighted. Among the more notable correspondents are Michael Kirby, Bob Carr, Quentin Dempster, Sir Gerard Brennan, James Spigelman and Gough Whitlam. Contents listed alphabetically by title of folder.
