    In 1956, Eustace Emile (Dick) Dietsch, a plumber, was a spectator at the Melbourne Olympic Games. He travelled from Sydney to Melbourne on the new Sydney-Melbourne Daylight Express train and returned to Sydney by air. In 1972 he travelled around Australia by car.

    Papers relating to Dick Dietsch’s trip to the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games and his diary of a road trip around Australia in 1972. Also included are two photographs of Dietsch.
