William Ifould was Principal Librarian of the Public Library of New South Wales, 1912-1942. George Robertson, bookseller and publisher, was a founder of Angus & Robertson.
  • Scope and Content
Letter from George Robertson to William Ifould with copies of correspondence between Angus & Robertson and Hachette & Cie, France. Attached is a memorandum from ‘C.R.’ to Hugh Wright, Mitchell Librarian (1909-1932) which reads: “Mr Ifould wants this correspondence kept in the Mitchell Library in connection with trade relations between France and Australia. It is interesting as showing the exceedingly conservative attitude of one of the most important publishing firms.”
