  • Scope and Content
    Further papers of Babette Smith, mainly relating to her writing career and her work with Corrective Services NSW, the NSW Bar Association, and as a mediator. The collection includes some further papers relating to her books 'A Cargo of Women', 'Australia’s Birthstain' and 'The Luck of the Irish'. Also included are papers relating to her historical research and her professional working life in mediation.
    The collection includes original papers of William Panton and his family. Panton was a free settler in NSW in the 1820s who returned to Scotland in 1836. A final element in this collection is a lock of Susannah Watson’s hair. She was a former convict and is the principal subject of 'A Cargo of Women'.
