• ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
  
  Slazenger (Aust.) Pty Ltd suspended their usual production of sporting goods between 1940 and 1945 to focus on items for the Australian war effort. During this time 1300 workers were employed by the company, and under contract of the Commonwealth Government they produced gun parts, boats and helmets. Fifty-seven ocean-going craft were produced at the Stockton plant near Newcastle.

  Presented to Mrs S. Markham, 15 November 1945. The album was purchased at a garage sale in the Blue Mountains by the donor in 2010.
• Scope and Content
  Album containing 14 photographs showing the factories and war-related equipment manufactured by Slazenger between 1940 and 1945, primarily at the factory in Bowden street Alexandria (Sydney) and at Putney and Newcastle.
