9 hand-bound artist's sketchbooks or visual diaries by Wendy Shortland from 2007 to 2012. The drawings are in pen, pencil and watercolour on special artist's paper with hand-sewn bindings and delicate coverings.

The drawings depict a wide range of Sydney locations including the Royal Botanic Gardens, Cockatoo Island, the harbour, parks and streetscapes over a five year period. They show locations and activities across Sydney and the inner-city representing contemporary life in New South Wales such as cafes, gardens, museums and galleries.

Wendy Stockland was part of the world-wide 'Sketch Crawl', an annual drawing marathon where a single day each year is chosen for a global sketch of drawing and journaling around the world. Several of these sketchbooks contains drawings taken of these chosen days.
