Scope and Content
Australian army issue 1903 Pattern water bottle. A kidney shaped bottle of blue enamelled iron with a cylindrical neck and tapered cork stopper with an eye bolt. The string to secure the stopper has come away but is still attached to the cover. The cover is made from khaki wool and has deteriorated in places, though some stitching is still in place. The carrier consists of a cradle, formed by vertical and lateral leather straps with brass press stud fastenings. The carrier has 2 metal rings for attachment to the shoulder strap. There are indecipherable maker's marks on the straps.

Brown leather adjustable shoulder strap for water bottle, approximately 125cm long. Strap is divided into two by a cotton webbing shoulder piece attached to a leather strip that has a missing buckle.
