Jean Jessie Roberts, nee Embury, married in 1939. She did a cooking course at the Australian gaslight Company and began collecting recipes from friends and entering them in this recipe book which she maintained for many years.

A recipe book with tabs for different types of meals including soups and fish, poultry and meat, entrees and vegetables, etc. Recipes are entered either by hand or have been cut from other sources and pasted into the appropriate section. Throughout the book there is evidence of use, as water stains and foxing appear. The owner has signed the inside cover "Jessie Richards".
