    State General election, 2011. David Shoebridge, Jan Barham and Jeremy Buckingham led the Upper House ticket and all were elected. Jamie Parker won Balmain. De Brierly Newton ran for Sydney, Mehreen Faruqi for Heffron, and Fiona Byrne for Marrickville - all unsuccessfully. Fiona's failure to win Marrickville was attributed to the GNSW 'BDS' policy: BDS, the ‘Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions’ campaign targeting Israel that was adopted by the state party as policy.
