The Strathfield and District Hebrew Congregation was founded in the 1940s as a centre for the education of Jewish children of local migrant families after World War II. In the early 1950s, the parents of those children purchased a residential property at 19 Florence Sreet, Strathfield. The property served as an education centre and a Synagogue. In 1959 a new Synagogue was built on the grounds, and it continued to run until 2013 when it closed down.

Collection of records and papers of the Strathfield and District Hebrew Congregation, together with photographs of children and the establishment of the Synagogue at Florence Street, Strathfield.
