  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    John Warhurst is a prominent academic who at that time was based in the Faculty of General Studies at the Warrnambool Institute of Advanced Education. He had written about the National Civic Council, in part based on a collection of files in his possession that represented the records of the National Civic Council's South Australian branch when it was called the Catholic Social Studies Movement.

    Barry Egan had been a member of the National Civic Council who held the positions of NSW secretary and federal secretary of the Shop Distributive and Allied Employees’ Association in the 1970s.

    John Forrester had been a member of the National Civic Council who held the position of secretary of the Central and Southern Queensland branch of the Federated Clerks’ Union in the 1970s.

    Frank Knopfelmacher was a prominent academic in the anti-communist movement who at one time was close to the National Civic Council’s national president B. A. Santamaria.

    Colleen Forrester was the wife of John Forrester and had been a member of the National Civic Council.

    Edmund Campion is a Catholic priest who has studied and written about the history of the National Civic Council.
