  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Mark John Currie, a naval captain, spent time exploring the east coast of Australia 1822-1823. In 1829 he arrived in Western Australia at the Swan River Colony, where he was part of at least three expeditions in to the south west region. In 1831 Currie built a brick homestead at the site now known as Redcliffe. He returned to England with his wife and their two children on 12 August 1832.
