Deborah Westbury has been publishing poems in leading literary magazines and journals such as Southerly and The Age Monthly Review since 1975. In addition to her poetry she teaches courses in creative writing at various universities and for community groups and high schools throughout Australia. Since her first collection of poetry, Mouth to Mouth, was published in 1990 she has written Our Houses are Full of Smoke (1994), Surface Tension (1998), Flying Blind (2002), and, most recently, her new and selected poems, The View From Here (2008).
