  • System of arrangement
Files in this series are arranged alphabetically by file title, which in most cases is the surname or organisation name of the correspondent. Names of organisations which include a personal name are listed under the surname e.g. Smith, John & Son Limited.¶ Most of the letters by a particular correspondent will be filed in the subject file with that correspondent’s name if one exists, but other letters by that correspondent could be in another subject file.¶Volumes of files are paginated using odd numbers only, with the blank reverse of each printed page correlating to even numbers.
