  • General note

    Richard Carl Phillips widely known as Dick Blair, a former Australian middleweight champion who turned professional in 1964 and won the Australian middleweight title in 1968. Born in Fingal Head in 1937 he had a 12 year boxing career and retired in 1975. He was also ordained as a pastor and was one of the inspirations behind The Block in Redfern. -- Koori Mail, 24 April 2013

    Clement (Clem) Rankin was involved in the Police Association life around 1969 as secretary and delegate of the Kempsey Branch. In 1971 he was elected to the Executive remaining a member until 1968 when he was promoted to commissioned rank. A keen sportsman, Clem used sport to promote policing at the community level wherever he was stationed and was the recipient of a number of awards and recommendations including the National Medal (1980) and the NSW Police Diligent and Ethical Service Medal (2008). He was attested in May 1960 and retired on 30 May 1997 with the rank of detective inspector. He died on 30 March 2014.

    Mr Jack Herbert Kemp (age 99), a WWII veteran and a Parramatta football club supporter.
