1 album (113 photographs, 5 greeting cards) - cartes-de-visite and cabinet - 30 x 23 x 7 cm.

In 1878 William Henchman (1842-1906) and his wife Jane McIlwraith, née Wallace (1845-1923) emigrated to Australia from England. They had eight children: Mary (1866-1936), Elinor Agnes Muriel (1868-1892), Adela Mabel (1870-1943), William (1871-1871), John Evelyn Wallace (1872-1939), Hereward Humfry (1874-1939), Hubert James Hungerford (b. 1876) and Daphne Isald (1885-1970).

The photograph album was kept by Daphne Isald Henchman.

Tooled, leather bound photographic album. Each portrait is mounted in the album, and includes cartes-de-visite and cabinet photographs. Clasp from back cover is missing and some pages have missing images.

Images are of men, women, adolescents, children and babies of the Henchman family, ca 1860 to 1890?

Photograhers include Stewart & Co., Melbourne; R.J. Robinson, Ardrossan Sth Australia; Goode Photography, Rockhampton; Johnstone O'Shannessy, Melbourne; F. Lindt, Melbourne; and, Charlemont, Sydney and Melbourne. Other photographers are from the U.K.

Includes a 6 page photocopy of the Henchman family tree compiled by D.C. Henchman, June 1996.
