Henry Fox, master mariner was born in Devon. He arrived in Van Diemens Land in 1840 and between 1841 and 1853 was master of various coastal and Pacific vessels based in Sydney. In later years he was well known as a businessman.

A collection of documents relating to Henry Thomas Fox and his family contained in 2 albums, Nos 4 & 5 (which follow albums Nos 1-3 previously donated to the Library).
Album 4: includes copies of family documents including wills, list of real & personal property, and marriage, birth and death certificates; copies of correspondence and photographs; transcripts of letters from William Fox (Henry Fox's father), 1816-17 re disposition of his ships; transcript of a journal kept by Henry Fox's mother, 1815.
Album 5: includes original family and personal letters, 1855-1884 including letters from Thomas Woolley, 1857; copy of Henry Fox's death certificate, 1891.
