  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Alexander Park was born in Scotland in approximately 1803, and immigrated to Australia on the Prince Regent in 1826. He was awarded a land grant of 2560 acres in Paterson, N.S.W., where he established his residence "Lewinsbrook". In 1837, Alexander's brother Robert joined him and served as a doctor in the region, later becoming Warden of The District, Chairman of the Bench of Magistrates and lay reader in the Gresford Church.

George and Sarah Frankland were other pioneers in Paterson, N.S.W. In 1826, after the death of her husband, Sarah returned to England and left her affairs to a number of agents including Alexander Park.
