  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Mr. James Neale, who was born in 1846 at the historic Elizabeth Farm, died in 1923. He was chief cashier in the Railway Department. He married in 1882 to Jessie Graham who died in 1933.   • Scope and Content
    Small brown leather diary with metal clasp and pencil. Inscribed inside first page is 'James R. Neale Elizabeth Farm Parramatta, 14/12/68'. The diary is produced by T.J. & J.S. Smith's of London. The paper is Metaltic and the pencil is ever-pointed in turned wood.

    Diary contains notes on carpentry repairs, shodding horses, names and addresses of members of the Graham family, list of Roses and their names, 1892-1911.

    Receipt no. renewal 4, January 7, 1892. Received from Mr. J.R. Neale being subscription to the Railway Institute for period ending 30th December 1892. For 10 shillings, Signed Alf E. Dykes.
