Thomas Sutton married Amelia Sheppeard in 1871 in the old Church of England in Hartley, N.S.W. He lived in the Hartley and Bowenfels areas. - Scope and ContentSeventeen page typescript memoir believed to have been written by Thomas Sutton. The writer describes his time attending the Newtown Toll Bar with Mr John Goodwin and John Breathour before moving to the Blue Mountains with Mr Goodwin to administer the Toll Bar at Wentworth Falls. He goes on to describe various happenings throughout his life in the Blue Mountains (Mt Victoria, Hartley, and Bowenfels) including, his marriage to Amelia Sheppeard, the drowning of his brother in law, various positions of employment, the ownership of several businesses and handing over those businesses to his sons.
