    This piece commemorates the death of Earl Kitchener. Horatio Herbert Kitchener was the British Secretary of State for War and a Cabinet Minister during the early part of World War One.
    Kitchener was killed in 1916 when the warship, HMS Hampshire, taking him to negotiations in Russia, was sunk by a German mine.
