    Seaman and whaler, William Dutton, took the Lady Mary Pelham on a six-month whaling voyage off New Zealand and back to Portland Bay in time for the whaling season there. In addition to the Lady Mary Pelham he was the master of several whaling ships sailing between Launceston, Kangaroo Island and Portland Bay.
