  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Henry Gordon Liddon Simpson, 1876-1971, originally from Adelaide, was a barrister of Warrawee, N.S.W. when he enlisted in the A.I.F., April 1915 aged 39. He embarked from Sydney on the Karoola, 16 June 1915 and served at Gallipoli and Egypt with the 1st Battalion, 6th Reinforcements. He was hospitalised in Mudros with dysentery, Sept.-Oct. 1915 and assigned to clerical duties in England after a fall on board ship in 1917. He returned to Australia on the Valencia, 15 Sept. 1919. He died July 1971 in Wollongong
