Lieutenant Colonel F. J. Board, an architect of Petersham, Sydney, enlisted with the 41st Battalion, aged 38 on 10 Feb. 1916. He embarked on A64 Demosthenes, 16 May 1916 and served in France where he was wounded in action, July 1917 and treated at 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth for gunshot wounds to the leg before being invalided to Australia on the Ulysses, 10 Sept. 1917 - Scope and ContentLetter from F.
