    Helen Kenny was granted a Fellowship by the State Library for the research on Major Robert Ross (ca. 1749-1794), the first lieutenant-governor of NSW.

    This collection comprises mostly of research files relating to Major Robert Ross (ca. 1749-1794), the first lieutenant-governor of NSW. Includes notebooks, indexes, photocopies of journal papers and books, photographs, newspaper cuttings, colour transparencies, chapter drafts and correspondence.

    Box 2 (ca. 1882-1934)
    Late 19th and early 20th century autograph, confession and birthday books belonging to Vera Rose Bull (later Frizell; the mother of Helen Kenny (née Frizell). Also contains two small publications.

    - 'Confessions'. Written on inside cover: 'Moss Neale, "Orange Grove", Seven Hills." Contains entries from ca. 1882-1884, including Vera R. Bull.
    - 'Autographs', signed by relatives and classmates (presumably Normanhurst School in Ashfield) of Vera R. Bull, 1906-1910. Includes a 1928 entry from Helen Frizell.
    - 'The Mark Twain Birthday Book', inscribed to Vera in 1913.
    - 'The Cynic's Autograph Book', inscribed 'To Dear Mother with love from Bud', 1912. Contains entries from ca. 1912-1913.
    - 'The Loving Record', inscribed to Vera in 1904. Contains an entry by Helen Frizell from August 1934.
    - 'Gems from Marcus Aurelius', inscribed to 'Miss Bull', no date.
    - 'The Rubáiyát of Omar Kháyyám', inscribed to Vera in 1916. The last page contains handwritten stanzas from the poem 'Invictus' by W.E. Henley.

    Box 3 and 4
    Helen Kenny's correspondence and contracts relating to the publication of Jack Kenny's book 'Before the First Fleet', completed and published by Helen Kenny the death of Jack Kenny.
