Herbert Walter E. Cotton was a Federation era Sydney cartoonist, caricaturist and illustrator. His first cartoons were published in the Bulletin in 1894, and from then on he concentrated on black-and-white work.
Scope and Content
'The Ball of the Season' by H.W.E. Cotton, 1905. Black and white print with yellow background of a scene at Sydney Town Hall, including politicians, judges, newspaper editors, theatrical celebrities and artists in fancy dress. Governor Northcote and Nellie Melba were chief guests. Includes image key listing the 77 attendees.
