    1. Stamp is affixed to a two-page document.

    Page one is a certificate signed by Edwin James Turpin, accountant, before the Commissioner of the Supreme Court of Fiji, 17 July 1894. Turpin declares the issue of the stamp to the value of 62 and a half cents during the reign of King Cakobau. It is embossed and bears the initials 'JBT', identified by Turpin as John Bates Thurston, former Chief Secretary and presently Governor of the Colony. The stamp also bears the signature of the late John Mitchell Haslett who was Postmaster General and Commissioner for Stamps under Cakobau.

    Page two is a certificate signed by George Austin Woods, first Premier of Fiji, confirming Turpin's declaration. The certificate is also signed by a former colleague of Woods, Robert Sherson Swanston, former Secretary of Native Affairs.
