  • Scope and Content
    1. Souvenir brown silk handkerchief, with colour printed flags of several Allied countries of World War 1914-1918.

    Clockwise from corner no. 1:

    Corner no. 1: Souvenir du Front 1914 - 1915. The flags of Belguim, France, Great Britain, Serbia. A picture of the Hazebrouck Town Hall, Deputy Mayor, with the French inscription of "Hotel de Ville D'Hazebrouck, Abbe Lemire, Depute-Maire". Picture is surrounded with red, white and blue strips and the flags of Italy, Great Britain, France, Russia.

    Corner no. 3: Flags of France and Italy.

    Corner no. 4: Flags of France and Russia.

    2. White/cream souvenir silk handkerchief with drawn thread, reinforced edges. In corner there are three coloured silk embroidered flowers. Possibly the red Poppy, blue Forget-me-not, and white Edelweiss or Rose. Underneath flowers is red embroidery of "Souvenir de France".
    23 x 25 cm.

    3. Pale pink souvenir silk handkerchief holder/bag. The holder is padded and has a silk rope edging. The design has a rectangle frame of ribbon with corner bows. Inside the frame is coloured silk embroidery featuring the numbers of the year 1918 made from the French, Union Jack, Belgian, American, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Romanian, Portuguese, Serbian flags.

    Underneath the date are green embroidered leaves, and lilac embroidered "Souvenir de France". The holder is folded in half and secured with a silk button.
    21 x 27 cm., folded to 21 x 13.5 cm.
