Pamela Willmette OAM (d. 2014) played a major role in the development of women’s basketball in New South Wales and Australia as a player, coach, administrator, selector and delegate. She represented New South Wales as a player during the 1950s and 1960s, served as a selector between 1965 and 1981, was head coach of the senior women’s team between 1968 and 1969 and was women’s secretary of Basketball New South Wales between 1962 and 1981. She was team manager for a series of international tours by New South Wales and the Australian Opals from the 1960s to the 1980s.
