    C 708/1 titled "Narrative of Proceedings by Wm Cox, Esq. of Clarendon in constructing a road from Captn Woodriffe's farm on the Neapean River opposite Emu Plains on the banks of Macquarie River in the year 1814 and 1815".

  • General note

    C 708/1 has Mitchell Library bookplate: "This book was presented to The Mitchell Library Sydney by Mrs Marian Ada Cox on behalf of the late Sydney Thomas Cox 1 Aug 1930"
    C 708/1 originally catalogued as original and C 708/2 as copy: recatalogued in reverse in Sep 1961. C 708/1 seems to be the handwriting of William Cox's son George.

    C 708/1: stamp, "Cox, Romani, Longfield St, Cabramatta"; and handwritten inscription "The water-mark on the paper of this book is Budgen & Willmott, 1812", signed and dated 1/8/30. Inside back cover, inscribed "Mrs Cox left Sydney ... 1860", and some bank details.
