  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Priscilla Franki nee Scoles was the first wife of James Peter Franki. Priscilla Scoles married James Peter Franki on 23 December 1869 at St Philip's Church of England, Sydney. She died in 1881 giving birth to twins, one of whom survived, leaving one son and six daughters with Franki.

  • Collection history
    The portrait belonged to James Peter Franki and was passed to the donors by family descent. From the eldest child of Priscilla and James Peter Franki, Ruby Antoinette L'Estrange nee Franki, to her daughter, Joan Hutchinson nee L'Estrange, to her niece Joan Walker, the donor's sister. David Hellstrom received the photograph from her estate.
