  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Perry Brown went to Sydney Grammar School with Teddy and Keith Brearley and acquired the collection after their deaths. The Brearley brothers were the sons of Dr. E. A. Brearley, a consulting physician to H.R.H. The Duke of Gloucester whilst he was Governor-General in Australia. He was a leading opthalmic surgeon and honorary opthalmic surgeon at Royal Prince Alfred and Lewisham Hospitals. He attended Sydney Grammar School and became vice-chairman of trustees and chairman. He also attended Sydney University. The Bray family was a prominent family in the Concord area, tracing their ancestry back to John Bray who came to Australia in 1790 with the 102nd Regiment, New South Wales Corp.
