  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Cyril Stanley Wyndham (1930-2012) was the first full-time Federal General Secretary of the Australian Labor Party, 1963-1969. He had been the press secretary to two Federal Labor leaders, H. V. Evatt, 1957-1960, and Arthur Calwell, 1960-1961. He was Secretary of the Victorian Branch of the Australian Labor Party, 1961-1963. Wyndham was Chief Editor of the Daily Commercial News from 1970 and contributed a regular column under the pen name 'Cassius'. In his retirement Wyndham was Chairperson of the Hunter Urban Network for Consumers of Healthcare (HUNCH).
