    William and Agnes Morris were both 27 when they and their two eldest children Edith and Wilfred arrived in Sydney on the Trevelyan in 1877. William was a carpenter, probably from West Bromwich, Staffordshire. In Sydney they lived in Paddington and Waverley, near the William's aunt Mary Ann Houghton and her husband. William worked as a carpenter and builder. William died in 1891.

    Seven letters and letter fragments from William Morris and his wife Agnes Morris to William's parents (probably John and Sarah Morris) in England describing their life in Paddington and Waverley, the children's schooling, real estate, family affairs, including news of the Houghton family and James Houghton at Richmond. William describes the bus he built for the Waverley and Woollahra Company which carried 22 passengers, 1879-1881
