Constantine Francis Bolton was born near Singleton, New South Wales, on March 30, 1840. At the age of seventeen he joined the field staff of P.F. Adams, the district surveyor for the area from Goulburn to Albury, in 1858 and as head chainman was involved in the survey of a large area of the district.

Donor's uncle, Bruce Ferrow married Laurel Hardy in ca 1923. Bruce Ferrow's sister is Ann Ferrow who was custodian of the family papers.

Collection of diaries and photographs, mostly of travels, of the Hardy and Bolton families, ca 1859-1940.

Small leather bound notebook, with metal clasp and gilt edged paper. Contains general notes in pencil.

Small spiral bound notebook with the name F.G. Hardy on front. A travel diary starting at Grunewald Railway Station Germany and continues through to the southern areas of Africa on a wildlife hunting trip.
