  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Geoffrey Chapman Ingleton (1908-1998) was a maritime historian and eminent hydrographer who in his early life was an officer in the Royal Australian Navy. He reached the rank of Lieutenant-Commander. Ingleton's diverse interests were always centred on things maritime. He was a cartographer, author, artist, etcher, ship modeller, book collector and publisher.

    2. Naval related newspaper clippings dated ca. 1934-1942, 1962.
    Being mainly from the Sydney Morning Herald.

    3. Scrapbook of Voluntary Aid Detachment (V.A.D.) related material, 1949-1956
    Includes newspaper clippings, various church service and other programs,
    theatre program for The tales of Hoffman, invitations, V.A.D newsletters and
    photographs of Voluntary Aids.

    4. Copies of United States Navy Seventh Fleet, outgoing despatches, 1945.
    Includes remarks on the conditions in which the re-established light stations in
    the Phillipine Islands were found.

    5. The Gunroom Gazette, eight issues, April 1954-April 1956
