Anna Josepha King (1765-1844) married Philip Gidley King in 1791 and went with him to Norfolk Island, returning to England in 1796. In 1799 King was appointed lieutenant-governor of New South Wales and they sailed to Sydney with their youngest child Elizabeth on the 'Speedy', captained by George Quested. - Scope and ContentTyped transcript of the journal that Anna Josepha King kept on the voyage from London to Sydney in 1799-1800. Anna describes the voyage, commenting on the weather and events on the ship, including her husband's health and the behaviour of the women convicts.
