  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Frederic Briggs, (F.J. Briggs or "Skip" Briggs) was a professional freelance photographer and filmmaker, located at 51 ? Yurong Street, Sydney. From 1945-1947 when these negatives were taken, the envelopes suggest he was at 26 Piccadilly Arcade, next to the Lyceum Theatre. He made several films about the aborigines of Cape York, including "But what is his future?", and another for the Anglican Church called "A seed is sown". In the late 1950's Briggs left these negatives and other items with Les Waddington, and then left for a job in weapons research in Melbourne. Les never heard from Briggs, or Briggs' son Peter, who was blind, again
