Harold Roy Matthews (born 31 May 1900) Secretary of Balmain Tigers Rugby League Club, and Secretary of the NSW Rugby League from 1951 to 1968.

BOX 1
Red scrapbook with ‘Scrap’ embossed on cover. Contains newspaper cuttings relating to rugby league in NSW in 1927 including match reports, scores of matches, photographs of players and matches, matches between New South Wales and Queensland, and foul play during matches including biting, punching, and a broken jaw. Also enclosed loose are match tickets, invitation cards, and two photographs of rugby players.
Folder 1: Loose scrapbook pages with photographs and news cuttings, mostly relating to tours of Balmain side around country New South Wales 1923-1928. Photographs include: South West Rocks Light Horse; Combined Reserves Moree; Balmain Reserves at Lithgow, 1923; players in Gundagai, 1925; various scenes of Canowindra. Also includes tickets for annual dances of Balmain Reserves, 1925-1926, handbill for two matches between Balmain and Canowindra, and CD ROM ‘Balmain Scrapbook Pictures 1924-1926’, containing digitised images of pictures in folder.

Scrapbook also contains dinner cards, invitations, and menus; match tickets and programmes; betting tickets; handbills, programmes, and news cuttings relating to Balmain matches against Tumut, Cootamundra, Goulburn, Combined Lithgow, Gunnedah, Toowoomba, Canowindra, Riverina (Group 17), Wagga, Bathurst, Leeton District, and Bellinger River League; photographs of team picnicking in bush, pig hunting in Moree, Tweed Heads, E Brolly, H Matthews, Coffs Harbour, C Willard, H Radwell, M Bailey, Brisbane River, Dave Starr, A McFadden, Hilliers Hotel Bellingen. Pages and covers of scrapbook detached.
