    Joseph Wyatt opened the Royal Victoria Theatre, on the western side of Pitt Street between Market and King streets (where 420 George Street is today). The Royal Victoria opened in 1838.

  • Scope and Content
    The poster states that the performance is for the Benefit of Mr Nesbitt, 'who respectfully solicits a continuance of the liberal patronage he has hitherto experienced'.
    Performances include "She stoops to conquer: or, the mistakes of a night"; "Walter Tyrell"; the songs "Death of Nelson" by Mr J. Howson and "Madame Carandini"; the recitation from Lord Byron's "Corsair" by Mr. Spencer and the Pas seul "El Castilliana" by Miss Hart.
    It includes the cast list of the comedy "She stoops to conquer: or, the mistakes of a night" and the cast list of the drama "Walter Tyrell", which will be performed for the last time.
