    Julie Sinclair (nee Dewez), born in 1916, was the daughter of the wool buyer, Gustave Oscar Dewez. She had a privileged upbringing in Neutral Bay. During the Depression she was involved in charity work and during the Second World War she worked for the Red Cross.
