    William Mitchell Boyd, brother of Archibald Boyd was a prominent landholder in the Glen Innes area. He was appointed a magistrate in 1843 and became involved in horse-breeding and racing.

  • Scope and Content
    Boyd writes about his associates, business affairs in New England and a trip to Sydney with his wife Anne to do some shopping. He drove down in an eight horse phaethon, travelling 25-40 miles per day. He also discusses his brother Archibald's situation. Archibald was forced to liquidate his holdings and leave the colony the following year. A transcript of the letter is included.
