Robert McNab, 1864-1917 was a New Zealand member of Parliament and historian. He searched extensively overseas in the archives of Great Britain, France and the New England region of the United States for sources. - Scope and ContentThe two principal items found and mentioned by McNab were the logs of the ships Endeavour and Britannia, 1792-1796 in the Essex Institute, Salem, Massachusetts. Sections of these logs are reproduced in McNab's 'Murihiku and the southern islands, 1907', p. 318-349 [DL 90/180]
