  • Scope and Content
    1. Brown buckram volume of typed copy letters of David Arnold Ray (called Arnold) from 25 January 1941 to 25 January 1942. Volume titled, 'Arnold Ray's Letters'.

    Letters tell of his travels in the R.A.A.F. during World War 1939-1945 from his boarding the ship 'Aorangi' as it sailed to New Zealand and Alberta, Canada where he had further training. He was sent to England where he was a Flying Officer in the R.A.F. 53 Squadron. His plane crashed in the North Sea, Atlantic Ocean on the 24 February 1942. He was 25 years old.
