Ferdinand Hamilton Reuss (1821-1896) was born in the UK but spent some time in America. Reuss was trained as a civil engineer and arrived in Australia in the boom Gold Rush years. He established an architectural business at 134 Pitt Street, Sydney and was active as an architect, builder and also a surveyor in Sydney during the 1870s and 1880s.
