Contains translations of memorials from Zaragoza's edition of the 'History of Quiros discoveries in the Austrialian regions', and of the Prologues of volumes I and II of Zaragoza's edition. These handwritten translations continue in volume A 557 / vol. 1.

The initial page of A 556 also contains the following 'Advertisement of the translator':
"As the original is written in old Spanish and the style is peculiar, it necessarily influences the English of the translation. The translator has preferred perfect conformity and accuracy with the Spanish text, than a more correct and literary English.
