Corporal Parker (Pax) Appleby Arundel Lambert (1895-1970) was accepted for The Australian Commonwealth Coronation Contingent of New South Wales Senior Cadets. He held the rank of Corporal and was No. 19 on the list of cadets. In 1911 the Coronation Contingent consisting of 181 boys travelled from New South Wales to London for the Coronation of King George V. They were all volunteer members of the New South Wales Cadet Corps, many still at school, and were part of the defence forces of the young Australian nation.

Parker (Pax) Appleby Arundel Lambert enlisted in September 1914 in the original 13th Battalion (Reg. No. 50) and landed at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915 as a sergeant. He ended the war as a Captain in the 4th Pioneer Battalion in France in 1918. During the Second World War he served as a staff Captain in Australia. He died in December 1970.

The proposal for the raising of a contingent from New South Wales was the work of one man, Major George Watkin Wynne, who had been the Officer Commanding Senior Cadets in N.S.W. since 1906 and had previously broached, before the Coronation, the possibility of taking a detachment of cadets to England on a training exercise. Following the request from the Imperial Authorities for an Australian Coronation Contingent, he approached Senator Pearce, the Minister for Defence, with an initial proposal to take a contingent of 80 Senior Cadets to the Coronation.
