    Handwritten petition dated March 23, 1895, signed by various ministers and office bearers of the Protestant Churches in Balmain, requesting that the Trustees of Gladstone Park in Balmain refuse permission for the Coldstream Band to play in the park on Sunday afternoons.

    The petition is accompanied by two letters, one handwritten and signed by Henry Parkes, dated 1883, asking two MP's to take charge of the park until Trustees are appointed. The other typed, from the Under Secretary of the Dept. of Lands dated 1902, seeking a resignation of the 'Trusteeship of Gladstone Park, Balmain, in favor (sic.) of the local Municipal Council'.
