  • Scope and Content
    Photographs of T. W. Mitchell, including family photographs, photographs related to skiing, official activities as M.L.A., and photos removed by the Mitchell Library from letters in the T. W. Mitchell papers. Some photographs are inscribed or captioned.

    Family members represented include Mrs Elizabeth Broughton Mitchell, nee Huon de Kerilleau; Mrs Thomas Mitchell of Tangambalanga & Bringenbrong; Rev. Josiah Mitchell, M.A., Vicar of Barford, England; Laure Huon Darveniza[?]; Robyn & Henry Huon; wedding photographs of Indi Mitchell; also family monuments.

    Skiing photos include views of snow in Wagga; Upper Kiewa Valley, Rocky Valley, Rocky Knob, Lake Guy and Bogong township, and Blue Lake; Geoffrey Lee at Rocky Valley Ski Club Field Day.

    Photographs of T. W. Mitchell engaged in official activities include opening of New Tallangatta dam, 29 June 1956, with Governor-General Slim, Sir Arthur Rylah M.L.A. and Cr Arnold Sutherland; launching "Morgan" at the Anvil Arts Centre, Gundowering, 26 October 1974, with author Margaret Carnegie and proprietor Judy Seebacher; with Sugi[?] Koli and Horrie Young.

    Includes a separate sequence of photographs and newscuttings removed from an adhesive photo album, relating to a tree dedication ceremony to Elizabeth Mitchell in the Albury Botanic Gardens on 10 March 1980; these are all captioned and are filed in original order. Represented are T. W., Elyne and John Mitchell, Stuart Hume, Mr and Mrs Frank Boyes, Alderman John Roach, Mr Cliff Chamberlain, Cr John McCauley, Cr Rex Chamberlain, Mayor of Albury, Mr Cleaver Bunton O.B.E., and Hume Huon.
