Reverend William Schofield was Chaplain at Macquarie Harbour, Tasmania February 1828-April 1832 then at Parramatta, N.S.W., 1832-1834 and afterwards at other circuits in New South Wales and Victoria. Reverend James Allen Manton succeeded Schofield as Chaplain at Macquarie Harbour, April 1832-January 1833 and was then the first Chaplain at Port Arthur, Tasmania, January 1833-1834. He was afterwards stationed at Launceston, Tasmania, 1834-1837. He later became the first principal of Newington College, Sydney. Reverend Joseph Orton came to Sydney from England in 1831 to take over the leadership of the Wesleyan Church. In 1835 he became the first chairman of the Tasmanian District, stationed at Hobart. From 1840-1842, he was stationed in Melbourne and died later the same year on board ship returning to England. Reverend Nathaniel Turner was stationed in Hobart, April 1832-February 1836. In April 1836 he left Sydney to take up a position in New Zealand. Reverend James Adams Nolan presumably the compiler of this volume was a Wesleyan minister stationed at various circuits in Queensland and New South Wales, 1860-1904 - Finding AidsContents list available in the Mitchell Library Reading Room -
